Apple has another Grand Opening in the Triangle

Grand Opening
Originally uploaded by The Blake Slate.
My daughter, Laura, called me on her cell phone today and ask me to guess where she was. I knew she must be in line at the Apple store in Crabtree Mall. I emailed her this week to remind her about the exciting event. It is really exciting to my daughter because she can walk from her apartment complex to the mall there in Raleigh.

She sent me 6 photos on her SideKick cellphone. This is my favorite.

These are too funny. Best thing to do is throw them out that nice window. No, not really, but what a nice view. Had to say something positive.

How Public Education Cripples Our Kids, And Why

So all my childs [must have skipped English class alot...it should be child's instead of childs. That's the teacher in me, wink wink] problems with learning and behavior come from the boredom of being schooled (imprisioned) for the first 12 years of his life?
The article is interesting, however the most engaging part of this Digg article has been the online comments generated by the "Digg-nation". Some comments really hit the issue of our public education on the nose. Others supported the various agendas present in all public debates of education. Some how, none of the contributors had any solutions. Funny how that works. I have a supportive administration that asks one thing from classroom teachers when we have a complaint - come up with a workable solution. If not, shut-up and teach. It works for me most of the time.
